De Hofkamer - Discover a hidden heritage gem in the heart of Antwerp
In a green oasis, hidden behind the gate of the historic building Den Wolsack, you will discover 'De Hofkamer'. This unique building with a rich history takes you back to the 18th century and exudes the luxury and grandeur that was pursued in 1772 by merchant Franciscus Van den Bogaert and his wife Maria Anne Roggens. They commissioned an unknown architect to create a stunning showroom and reception hall that highlighted their wealth and status.

Flemish Masterpiece: Gods on Mount Olympus
The absolute highlight of De Hofkamer is undoubtedly the majestic ceiling painting "Gods on Mount Olympus". This work, with an area of 65 m², is the largest ceiling painting on canvas in Western Europe. Will you soon recognize Zeus, Hera, Athena, Poseidon and the other Greek gods on the canvas?

An extraordinary luxury toilet
On the second floor you will discover another unique creation: the book toilet. This 18th century toilet room is completely decorated as an imitation library. Even the toilet bowl resembles a stack of books! This piece of heritage is a must-see guaranteed to make you smile.

• The Court Room is partially accessible to disabled. There is no elevator in the building.
• There is an underground pay parking lot near Grote Markt, 260 metres walk from De Hofkamer. You can stop your car in front of our door.
• A restroom visit is free of charge. Toilets for wheelchair users have limited access.
