St. Andrew's Church: Parish of Misery
A stone's throw from the historic centre you will find St. Andrew's Church. Today in this historic gem you will discover works of art from a distant and not so distant past. The 18th-century main altar, the 19th-century pulpit and the 17th-century monument honouring Queen Mary Stuart of Scotland are among the absolute best of Antwerp's cultural heritage.
St. Andrew's Church is the only one in Antwerp where you can still find baroque altars with so-called "enclosures". Your guide also takes you to Our Lady's Chapel. Here you will discover a statue of Mary with a 'feather cloak'. The Madonna statue was given a new look in 2001 by the famous fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester. Finally, your guide takes you to the treasure room of St. Andrew's Church.
