IMPORTANT: contact uantwerpen@kgva.be before booking..

Antwerp University has an important collection of, mainly contemporary art: more than 1,100 pieces spread across four campuses.

These works are not exhibited in a separate museum, but have been integrated into the living environment of staff and students.

Antwerp University would like to offer interested visitors the opportunity to enjoy its collection and the architecture of its buildings.

A first eye-catcher on the Middelheim campus is the 1930s Art Deco building: the UA Rector's Office, in the building of the former colonial college.

In a corner of the garden, the Villa Laude still reminds us of this colonial period.

On this campus one can admire many works by the Cobra Group, the most notable of which are in the Alechinsky-Claus Hall.

In the park we will find sculptures by modern and contemporary artists (including Folon, Arne Quinze ...).

More contemporary art can be seen in Building I ( including Nadia Naveau), which was inaugurated in 2014.

Important:

  • On weekdays, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • It is possible that some buildings may not be accessible during a guided tour due to UA activities. Therefore, we ask you to first contact us at uantwerpen@kgva.be (Antwerp City Guides) and let us know in advance which group it is and on which day and hour you would like a guided tour. As soon as you receive confirmation, you can book the tour. However, if day and time are less convenient, we will contact you to try to find another date.
