Around the Steen: the City's DNA

The Steen and the castle area are the oldest core of the city of Antwerp. They form, as it were, the DNA of this city. Elements of that early history can still be found today.

Together with your guide, you will explore the castle zone in search of traces of the past that are reflected in the present. You will get to know some lesser-known Antwerp people. Was Clara Goossens really a witch? Who was Jefke from the Zoölogical Gardens? What was the connection between Cornelis Van der Geest and Pieter Paul Rubens? And who are their counterparts today?
